Devonian reefs are very similar to Silurian and built by stromatoporoids, Tabulate corals and large rugose corals. Devonian reefs thrived in Alberta, Canada; Western Australia; and China. During the Late Devonian a mass extinction wipes out many of the dominate reef builders and stromatolite reef again become widespread.
